What you actually pay

Build the annual budget from four lines rather than the tuition figure alone:

• KEA-prescribed tuition for your allotted seat category
• Skill-lab and miscellaneous fee — ₹45,000 as applicable, paid at admission
• Hostel and mess, if you take on-campus residence
• RGUHS registration, university examination and one-time caution deposit

Why the fee differs between students

Two students in the same classroom can pay very different amounts because the fee attaches to the seat, not the person. A government-quota seat allotted through KEA carries the state-fixed lower tuition; management and all-India-quota seats carry the higher notified rate. Category scholarships and state fee-reimbursement schemes reduce the payable amount further.

Five-and-a-half years, not four

BAMS runs 5 years 6 months (4½ years academic + 12 months compulsory rotatory internship), so multiply the annual figure across the academic phases and add the internship year when you compare against other health-science degrees.

Funding routes

Education loans are sanctioned against the college's fee-structure letter and allotment letter. State post-matric scholarships, minority and category schemes, and the Karnataka fee-reimbursement route apply to eligible candidates — collect the bonafide certificate from the college office early, since these schemes have hard deadlines.
