Third professional year
Swasthavritta and Yoga
What the department covers
Swasthavritta is where Ayurveda's preventive strength lives: daily and seasonal regimen, diet, sadvritta, epidemiology, national health programmes and community medicine postings. Yoga is taught practically, and the college's AYUSH wellness activity and medical camps give students real community exposure. Graduates who move into wellness, panchakarma resorts or public health draw most heavily on this subject.

Where it sits in the course
This subject is taught in the third professional year of the BAMS programme at Sri Paripoorna Sanathana Ayurveda Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, which runs 5 years 6 months (4½ years academic + 12 months compulsory rotatory internship) and is examined by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru. Practical work is supported by the department's own museum or laboratory and, for clinical subjects, by postings in the attached NABH-accredited teaching hospital.
